When the City of White Plains ordered an existing garage to close due to structural issues, Walker Consultants was retained to design the City's new precast parking structure.
The eight-level, 650-space, precast concrete garage features exterior architectural lighting and a glass-backed elevator and stair tower. It is a 24-hour facility serving patrons in the City's lively downtown area, as well as nearby office space; two levels of the structure have shared rights with an adjacent senior living facility.
Walker is the Architect and Engineer of Record and provided architectural, functional, signage, and graphic design; PARCS specifications; structural engineering; and construction administration. Our solutions were provided without disrupting a shared wall with the adjacent senior residence during demolition of the older garage and construction of the new one.
