Brian is the Director of Building Envelope for Walker Consultants in the Minneapolis, MN office.  For over two decades, Brian has provided building envelope consulting and commissioning services for projects across the United States and internationally, including the new U.S. Embassy in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.  Brian is a licensed Professional Engineer with expertise in residential and commercial roof systems, exterior facades, curtainwall, storefront, and other fenestration systems, building science, air barriers, horizontal and vertical waterproofing systems, and sealants.  He routinely performs architectural peer reviews of building envelope systems and details, shop drawing reviews, construction observations, and field performance testing.

In addition to new construction building envelope consulting and commissioning services, Brian also consults on existing structures, focusing on assessments, diagnostics, and preparation of restoration construction documents.  Moreover, Brian has served as an expert witness in construction defect litigation, forensic evaluations following weather occurrences for the insurance industry, and has served as both an appraiser and umpire.

Brian prides himself on being a collaborative team member, soliciting opinions and solutions within the constraints of the specific project budget and schedule, working to achieve realistic but effective solutions for the built environment.  In his free time, Brian enjoys spending time with his family and two dogs, as well as golf, skiing, and time away at the cabin.
